We’re Blind Veterans UK, a charity that helps vision-impaired ex-service people from every generation rebuild their lives regardless of how or when they lost their sight. Founded in 1915, by Sir Arthur Pearson, to help the many veterans losing their sight after the First World War, we have supported those blinded in subsequent wars and military engagements, including the Second World War, and more recently, the conflicts in the Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan.

We are currently seeking a Regional Administrator to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role
As our Regional Administrator, you will provide high-quality administrative, organisational and engagement support to our teams across South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Stoke, Staffordshire, Shropshire and the West Midlands.
Supporting our Community Services Team Leaders, you will be tasked with financial record keeping, cash handling, banking, communications, correspondence, producing reports and statistics and formulating newsletters.
You will regularly attend meetings, for which you will co-ordinate diaries, as well as take and circulate minutes. Alongside the regions listed above, you will also be asked to support teams in other areas to meet organisational requirements.
Additionally, you will:
- Help set up and manage admin, financial, IT and paper-based systems
- Manage petty cash float and keep accurate financial records
- Handle calls and enquires
- Help to arrange various events
- Assist with the day-to-day management of our office in Sheffield and occasional working here
About You
To be considered for the role of Regional Administrator, you will need:
- Relevant administration and cashiering experience
- Previous experience working with older people with visual impairments
- Excellent levels of IT proficiency
- Effective organisational skills
- The ability to take and transcribe meeting minutes
Knowledge of banking procedures would be beneficial to your application, as would knowledge of the military and military personnel. A working knowledge of Microsoft Teams would also be advantageous, as would the ability to travel across the area and other locations in the UK where required.
