Thomas Pocklington Trust (TPT) and RNIB are collaborating with charities to create new opportunities for blind and partially sighted people to find employment through the Get Set Progress Internship programme.
Blind Veterans UK are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a blind or partly sighted person to join the Get Set Progress internship programme as a Working Age Member Support Intern.
Over the course of this 9-month internship, you can look forward to valuable work experience within the charity sector, work as part of our Working age members team, and in collaboration with other National services and our Community and Centre based teams, to meet our members needs in line with our service model.
You will support the planning and delivery of a wide range of wellbeing, holistic and therapeutic peer activities to members within their local area, and remotely (through platforms like Microsoft Teams). This will include tailored programs that increase safety and independence, enabling our members to lead the life they choose, focusing mainly around pathways to employment, and meaningful activity.
The Works For Me team will also continue to support you in finding valuable employment after your time on the GSP internship programme has ended.
Please be aware that this post has a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the successful applicant be a person who is blind or partially sighted, in line with The Equality Act 2010.
